Origin Story

The FAMAS Crypsis, released on March 14, 2019, as part of The Prisma Collection with the Seeing the Light update, features a spray-painted randomized insect pattern. Its autumn color palette gives the weapon a camouflaged appearance. The skin's name, "Crypsis," refers to the ability of an animal to avoid observation, which aligns with its insect-like design and the flavor text, "Take a second look."

Drop Chance

FAMAS | Crypsis is Mil-Spec, a Blue-tier skin, less common than base collection drops. From the Prisma Case: approximately 11.42% per opening (roughly 1 in 9). The 79.92% Mil-Spec tier rate is split across 7 Mil-Spec skins in the case. StatTrak versions drop at ~1.14% from the Prisma Case (about 1 in 88). These per-skin odds assume equal weighting within tier — Valve publishes tier rates but doesn't formally confirm even distribution across skins in a tier.

• Minimal Wear ($0.46): Minor wear begins to appear on edges and high-traffic areas, but the overall pattern remains clear.
• Field-Tested ($0.35): Noticeable wear and scuffs are present, particularly on exposed surfaces, yet the design is still distinct.
• Well-Worn ($0.37): The spray-paint shows significant degradation, with larger areas of paint loss and scratching.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.35): Extensive wear covers the weapon, with much of the original finish heavily obscured or worn away.

Model

Crypsis uses the legacy FAMAS model, introduced with Seeing the Light on March 14, 2019. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The FAMAS | Crypsis is primarily acquired through opening the Prisma Case. Players can also obtain this Mil-Spec rifle skin through trade-up contracts, using ten lower-rarity skins from The Prisma Collection. A StatTrak version is also available for kill tracking. For direct purchase, the skin is readily available on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, and various case-opening or skin-trading sites.
