Origin Story

The Negev | CaliCamo was released on November 27, 2013, as part of The Mirage Collection during the "Out with the old, in with the new" update. It features a VariCamo patterned hydrographic, giving the heavy machine gun a muted, earthy camouflage design with tan, khaki, and olive tones. This visual style aligns with other skins from The Mirage Collection, such as the AWP | Snake Camo, which also showcase subdued, military-inspired aesthetics. The skin's flavor text, "Rebuilding only comes in the wake of destruction," hints at the rugged nature of the weapon and its design.

Drop Chance

Negev | CaliCamo is Industrial Grade, a common skin tier, one step above Consumer Grade. It has appeared across 13 tournament packages, most recently the Krakow 2017 Mirage Souvenir Package, London 2018 Mirage Souvenir Package, and MLG Columbus 2016 Mirage Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Mirage Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Industrial Grade skins like CaliCamo are a small fraction of total package contents. There are 4 other Industrial Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

Skin Condition

Float range 0 to 0.6. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Factory New ($15.45): The VariCamo pattern is sharp and fully saturated, with clear separation between the tan, olive, and grey patches, appearing pristine.
• Minimal Wear ($22.45): Small scuffs may begin to appear on muzzle and barrel edges, and receiver corners, but the overall pattern remains very clean with strong colors.
• Field-Tested ($15.29): The camo pattern shows noticeable softening and colors may appear slightly faded, especially on the forward half of the gun and along edges.
• Well-Worn ($26.27): The pattern is noticeably worn down, appearing mottled or patchy in some areas as the hydrographic thins, with clear wear marks on edges.
• Battle-Scarred ($28.75): The hydrographic camo is substantially faded on many surfaces, with large washed-out areas and heavy scratching on high-contact parts, giving a very battle-worn appearance.

Model

CaliCamo uses the legacy Negev model, introduced with Out with the old, in with the new on November 27, 2013. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The Negev | CaliCamo is exclusively obtained as a Souvenir skin, originally distributed through various Mirage Souvenir Packages such as the Atlanta 2017, Berlin 2019, and Boston 2018 Mirage Souvenir Package. These packages were awarded to viewers during past Major tournaments when watching matches played on Mirage. Since new souvenir packages are no longer being distributed, the skin is now acquired by purchasing existing copies from other players. Buyers can find the Negev | CaliCamo on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or through case-opening and skin trading sites.
