Origin Story

The G3SG1 | Safari Mesh, released on November 27, 2013, as part of the "Out with the old, in with the new" update, is a utilitarian skin from The Mirage Collection. Its design features a muted khaki, beige, and olive-green camouflage pattern, literally spray-painted using mesh fencing and cardboard cutouts as stencils. This early-era camo finish is most visible on the upper receiver, scope area, and barrel shroud during gameplay. While generally considered a budget, low-status finish, its plain and functional appearance has made it an iconic representation of older Counter-Strike skin aesthetics.

Drop Chance

G3SG1 | Safari Mesh is Consumer Grade, the most common drop tier in CS2. It has appeared across 13 tournament packages, most recently the Krakow 2017 Mirage Souvenir Package, London 2018 Mirage Souvenir Package, and MLG Columbus 2016 Mirage Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Mirage Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Consumer Grade skins like Safari Mesh are a small fraction of total package contents. There are 5 other Consumer Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

Skin Condition

Float range 0.06 to 0.8. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Factory New ($57.10): The camouflage pattern appears most intact and uniform, with relatively crisp mesh edges and minimal scratching; colors are at their lightest and most consistent.
• Minimal Wear ($3.96): The camouflage remains largely intact and bright, with light edge wear starting to appear on the barrel, scope area, and corners of the receiver.
• Field-Tested ($2.16): Noticeable wear on high-contact edges and some flat surfaces leads to duller colors and more visible base metal, especially along the front of the handguard and receiver edges.
• Well-Worn ($3.23): Significant wear causes large areas of the pattern to thin or partially wear away, especially on corners and prominent edges, making the gun look noticeably darker and more scuffed.
• Battle-Scarred ($3.96): Very heavy wear results in substantial portions of the original spray pattern wearing down, exposing more of the dark base metal and giving a grimy, heavily-used look.

Safari Mesh uses the legacy G3SG1 model, introduced with Out with the old, in with the new on November 27, 2013. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The G3SG1 | Safari Mesh is exclusively found in Souvenir Packages from past Major tournaments, such as the Atlanta 2017 Mirage Souvenir Package, Berlin 2019 Mirage Souvenir Package, and Katowice 2019 Mirage Souvenir Package, among others. These packages were originally distributed to viewers during Major events when the Mirage map was played. Since these tournaments have concluded, new packages are no longer being distributed. Consequently, players primarily acquire this skin by purchasing it directly from other players on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or through various CS2 skin trading sites.
