The MP9 | Setting Sun, released on August 8, 2014, as part of The Cache Collection with the Cologne 2014 update, features a hydrographic pattern of nuclear hazard symbols. The skin is often grouped with other radiation and hazard-themed items from the same Cache Collection, forming a cohesive nuclear aesthetic. Drop Chance

MP9 | Setting Sun is Mil-Spec, a Blue-tier skin, less common than base collection drops. It has appeared across 12 tournament packages, most recently the Krakow 2017 Cache Souvenir Package, London 2018 Cache Souvenir Package, and MLG Columbus 2016 Cache Souvenir Package.

• Field-Tested ($18.90): Noticeable chipping appears on front edges, the top of the receiver, and magazine edges, and yellow or orange hazard signs may appear slightly faded or interrupted by wear.
• Well-Worn ($14.29): Heavy chipping and wear are present across most high-contact surfaces, with larger parts of the dark base exposed and hazard symbols partially eroded with reduced vibrancy.
• Battle-Scarred ($19.14): Extensive wear covers the skin, with large areas where the hydrographic pattern is heavily chipped or faded, and hazard symbols may be partially or mostly eroded.

Setting Sun uses the legacy MP9 model, introduced with Cologne 2014 on August 8, 2014. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

The MP9 | Setting Sun is exclusively available as a souvenir item, originally obtained from specific Cache Souvenir Packages. These packages, including the Atlanta 2017, Boston 2018, and Cologne 2016 Cache Souvenir Package, were awarded to viewers during past Major tournaments. Since these tournaments have concluded, new souvenir packages are no longer distributed. Players can acquire this skin today by purchasing it directly from other players on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or through various case-opening and skin trading sites.
