Origin Story

The P90 | Traction, released on August 3, 2018, as part of The Horizon Collection during the "A New Horizon" update, features a custom paint job of sectioned blue hexagons designed to fit the weapon's unique shape. This Gunsmith-finished skin integrates paint with material details, giving it a manufactured, tech-industrial appearance.

Drop Chance

P90 | Traction is Mil-Spec, a Blue-tier skin, less common than base collection drops. From the Horizon Case: approximately 11.42% per opening (roughly 1 in 9). The 79.92% Mil-Spec tier rate is split across 7 Mil-Spec skins in the case. StatTrak versions drop at ~1.14% from the Horizon Case (about 1 in 88). These per-skin odds assume equal weighting within tier — Valve publishes tier rates but doesn't formally confirm even distribution across skins in a tier.

• Factory New ($4.50): The blue hexagonal pattern is sharp, saturated, and continuous, with minimal to no visible scratches on the main body.
• Minimal Wear ($1.08): Only light edge wear begins to appear on the front barrel housing and high-contact corners, while the hexagon pattern remains highly readable.
• Field-Tested ($0.80): Noticeable chipping and scratches appear on edges and exposed surfaces, with some segments of the hexagon pattern looking interrupted.
• Well-Worn ($0.51): Wear is clearly visible with larger patches of missing paint on leading edges, and the hexagon pattern appears faded and broken.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.48): Extensive paint loss and scratching cover major surfaces, leaving the blue hexagonal motif substantially faded or fragmented for a heavily used look.

Model

Traction uses the legacy P90 model, introduced with A New Horizon on August 3, 2018. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The P90 | Traction is primarily acquired by opening a Horizon Case. While the Horizon Case has been moved to the rare drop pool, it can still be obtained as a random rare drop or purchased on the Steam Market. Players can also acquire the skin through trade-up contracts using ten lower-rarity skins from The Horizon Collection. A StatTrak version is also available for kill tracking. For direct purchase, the skin is readily available on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, and various case-opening or skin-trading sites.

P90 | Traction ranges from $0.48 (Battle-Scarred) to $4.50 (Factory New). Field-Tested copies sit at $0.80. StatTrak versions carry a premium at every wear tier.
