Origin Story

The AWP | Fade, released on December 3, 2020, as part of the Control Collection with Operation Broken Fang, applies the iconic Fade finish to the AWP. Its design features transparent paints airbrushed together over a chrome base coat, creating a vibrant gradient from gold through pink to deep purple.The AWP | Fade is considered a premium outcome from Control Collection trade-ups, often discussed as a long-term hold for collectors. It stands out visually with its high saturation, chrome-like sheen, and smooth color transitions, aligning it with other luxury AWP finishes.

Drop Chance

AWP | Fade is Covert, a Red-tier skin, the rarest standard drop grade. It can drop as an end-of-match reward from active competitive play on the Control Collection item pool. Map drops follow a weighted rarity system that heavily favors common grades, so Covert drops are uncommon and Valve doesn't publish per-skin odds. It is the only Covert skin in the collection. Most copies enter the market through trade-up contracts or direct purchase at a listed seller's price.

• Factory New ($1,207.66): The chrome base coat maintains maximum gloss and saturation, with the gold to pink to purple fade appearing smooth and uninterrupted across the body.
• Minimal Wear ($1,500.00): The vibrant fade gradient remains intact, but minor edge wear or tiny dull spots may appear on the muzzle, barrel tip, or sharp receiver edges.

Model

Fade uses the current AWP model, added with Operation Broken Fang on December 3, 2020. The Anodized Multicolored finish responds to CS2's dynamic lighting.

How to Obtain

The AWP | Fade originates from The Control Collection, which was introduced during Operation Broken Fang. Since the operation concluded, this skin no longer drops as a weekly reward. Players can acquire it through trade-up contracts using ten lower-rarity skins from The Control Collection. Alternatively, it can be purchased directly from other players on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or various case-opening and skin-trading sites.
