Origin Story

The AUG | Steel Sentinel, custom painted in gunmetal grey, debuted on April 1, 2025, as part of the Spring Forward update and is included in The Train 2025 Collection. Its design evokes a sense of robust utility, with the simple yet effective color scheme. The flavor text "Solid steel and cold as death" reinforces its no-nonsense, formidable appearance. This skin offers a clean and metallic look, emphasizing the weapon's inherent strength.

Drop Chance

AUG | Steel Sentinel is Industrial Grade, a common skin tier, one step above Consumer Grade. It appeared in the Austin 2025 Train Souvenir Package and Budapest 2025 Train Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Train 2025 Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Industrial Grade skins like Steel Sentinel are a small fraction of total package contents. There are 5 other Industrial Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

Skin Condition

Float range 0 to 1. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Factory New ($3.48): The Gunsmith finish maintains its full integrity, showcasing the design with no visible wear.
• Minimal Wear ($0.24): Minor wear begins to appear on the edges of the weapon, consistent with the Gunsmith finish.
• Field-Tested ($0.07): Noticeable scuffs and abrasions become visible across the weapon's surface, particularly on high-traffic areas.
• Well-Worn ($0.05): Significant wear and tear are present, with much of the design showing considerable fading and scratching.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.05): The Gunsmith finish is heavily degraded, displaying extensive paint loss and deep scratches across the entire weapon.

Steel Sentinel uses the current AUG model, added with Spring Forward on April 1, 2025. The Gunsmith finish responds to CS2's dynamic lighting.

How to Obtain

The AUG | Steel Sentinel is exclusively available in Souvenir quality, originating from the Austin 2025 Train Souvenir Package and Budapest 2025 Train Souvenir Package. These packages were historically distributed to viewers during Major tournaments as rewards for watching live matches. Since new packages are no longer being distributed, players acquire this skin by purchasing existing copies from the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or various CS2 skin trading sites.
