Origin Story

The MAC-10 | Heat, released on February 20, 2014, as part of The Phoenix Collection, features a custom paint job designed to mimic metal fresh from a forge, with bright orange and yellow gradients transitioning into darker, charred edges. Its in-game description notes it "has been custom painted to look as though it just came out of the forge," complemented by the flavor text, "Make some outlines of your own." This skin is recognized as a classic, affordable MAC-10 option within its collection, providing a vibrant, heat-themed aesthetic. It remains a mid-tier, older MAC-10 skin, appreciated for its colorful appearance rather than as a high-end collector's item.

Drop Chance

MAC-10 | Heat is Restricted, a Purple-tier skin in the upper half of the rarity ladder. It can drop as an end-of-match reward from active competitive play on the Phoenix Collection item pool. Map drops follow a weighted rarity system that heavily favors common grades, so Restricted drops are uncommon and Valve doesn't publish per-skin odds. There are 3 other Restricted skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. Most copies enter the market through trade-up contracts or direct purchase at a listed seller's price.

Float range 0 to 1. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is available in FN, MW, FT, WW, BS.

• Factory New ($21.81): The orange and yellow heated gradient is fully intact and vivid, with minimal to no scratching on the body and edges, presenting a "fresh from the forge" look.
• Minimal Wear ($7.71): Color vibrancy remains strong with the heated gradient still prominent, showing only small edge nicks and tiny scratches on high-contact areas like the muzzle and magazine lip.
• Field-Tested ($4.11): More noticeable chipping appears along edges and high-contact areas, with some underlying darker base material starting to show through, particularly near the front and rear.
• Well-Worn ($3.02): Significant edge wear and scattered patches of missing paint are visible, especially along the front, magazine, and rear, weakening the "freshly forged" impression.
• Battle-Scarred ($3.16): Extensive chipping and scratching cover large areas of the heated pattern, revealing much more base material and resulting in a muted, worn-out appearance.

Model

Heat uses the legacy MAC-10 model, introduced with Operation Phoenix on February 20, 2014. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The MAC-10 | Heat is primarily obtained from opening the Operation Phoenix Weapon Case, which is no longer in the active drop pool but can still be acquired as a rare drop. Players can also acquire this Restricted-grade skin through trade-up contracts, using ten lower-rarity skins from The Phoenix Collection. A StatTrak version is also available for kill tracking. For direct purchase, the skin is readily available on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, and various case-opening or skin-trading sites.
