Origin Story

The AUG | Radiation Hazard, released on August 8, 2014, with the Cologne 2014 update, is a classic skin from The Cache Collection. Its design features a bright orange base with black and yellow radiological hazard patterns, spray-painted across the weapon. This skin is recognized for its old-school aesthetic, evoking nostalgia for early CS:GO. While not a high-end item, it is occasionally used as a thematic craft base, particularly with nuclear or yellow-orange stickers. It remains a niche, collection-focused pickup, valued more for its age and Cache Collection ties than as a mainstream status symbol.

AUG | Radiation Hazard is Industrial Grade, a common skin tier, one step above Consumer Grade. It has appeared across 12 tournament packages, most recently the Krakow 2017 Cache Souvenir Package, London 2018 Cache Souvenir Package, and MLG Columbus 2016 Cache Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Cache Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Industrial Grade skins like Radiation Hazard are a small fraction of total package contents. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

• Minimal Wear ($5.86): Minor wear begins to appear on the muzzle edges, front handguard, and receiver corners, though the orange remains bright.
• Field-Tested ($2.88): Noticeable chipping and fading occur on exposed edges and high-contact zones, making the hazard patterns appear more used with scratches over the stenciled elements.
• Well-Worn ($2.88): Significant surface wear and dulling of the orange are present, with larger worn patches on black edges, corners, and some flat panels where the paint looks thin or scraped.

How to Obtain

The AUG | Radiation Hazard is exclusively found in Souvenir Packages from past Majors, such as the Atlanta 2017 Cache Souvenir Package or the Boston 2018 Cache Souvenir Package. These packages were originally distributed to viewers who watched Major tournaments. Since new souvenir packages are no longer being distributed, the skin is primarily acquired by purchasing existing copies from the Steam Community Market. It is also available on various third-party marketplaces and case-opening sites.
