Origin Story

The Shadow Daggers | Stained emerged on September 17, 2015, as part of the Shadow Boxing update, introducing one of the original finishes for the distinctive Shadow Daggers knife. Its in-game description notes it has been given a forced patina using lemon and mustard dripped onto the surface. This finish is characterized by its mixed grey, off-white, and muted brown/bronze tones, creating an irregularly blotched and streaked metallic surface. The Stained finish across various weapons is generally viewed as a more subdued, budget-friendly patina option.

• Field-Tested ($70.20): The patina appears more muted, with more visible scratching especially along edges, tips, and near the handle, making the metal look slightly darker overall.
• Well-Worn ($70.91): The metal is noticeably darker and more worn, with extensive scratching, though the overall pattern remains intact.
• Battle-Scarred ($72.25): The finish looks heavily aged, with the metal quite dull and dark, and scratches and patina staining dominating the surface.

Stained uses the legacy Shadow Daggers model, introduced with Shadow Boxing on September 17, 2015. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The Shadow Daggers | Stained is obtained as a rare special item from opening a Shadow Case. Knives are exceptionally rare drops from cases, with a combined drop rate of approximately 0.26% for any knife. While the Shadow Case is no longer an active drop, existing cases can still be opened. A StatTrak version of this knife is also available for kill tracking.
