Origin Story

The Nova | Exo, released in June 2016 as part of the Gamma Exposure update, features a hydrographic silver panel motif over a purple pattern base. This design gives the shotgun a distinct sci-fi aesthetic within The Gamma Collection. Despite its unique visual style, the Nova | Exo is generally considered a low-tier, budget option within the Gamma set due to its Mil-Spec rarity. It is primarily valued for its functional appeal and thematic alignment rather than as a collector's item.

Drop Chance

Nova | Exo is Mil-Spec, a Blue-tier skin, less common than base collection drops. From the Gamma Case: approximately 11.42% per opening (roughly 1 in 9). The 79.92% Mil-Spec tier rate is split across 7 Mil-Spec skins in the case. StatTrak versions drop at ~1.14% from the Gamma Case (about 1 in 88). These per-skin odds assume equal weighting within tier — Valve publishes tier rates but doesn't formally confirm even distribution across skins in a tier.

Float range 0 to 0.5. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is available in FN, MW, FT, WW, BS.

• Factory New ($1.23): The silver panels appear bright and clean with a strong metallic look, and the purple base is at its most vibrant and saturated.
• Minimal Wear ($0.71): The overall appearance remains very close to Factory New, with only slight softening of the metallic sheen and very minor darkening on sharper edges.
• Field-Tested ($0.61): The purple base begins to lose vibrancy, appearing slightly duller, and the silver panels become less reflective with visible darkening and mild wear on high-contact areas.
• Well-Worn ($0.60): The entire finish tends to look noticeably darker and more muted, with the purple shifting towards a more washed or faded tone and the silver panels losing most of their crisp metallic feel.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.47): Within its restricted float range, Battle-Scarred Nova | Exo shows heavy dulling and darkening, with the purple becoming significantly desaturated and the silver panels looking more like dark gray patches than reflective plates.

Model

Exo uses the legacy Nova model, introduced with Gamma Exposure on June 16, 2016. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The Nova | Exo is primarily obtained by opening a Gamma Case. Players can also acquire this Mil-Spec shotgun skin through trade-up contracts using ten lower-rarity skins from The Gamma Collection. Additionally, it is available for purchase on the Steam Community Market, various third-party marketplaces, and case-opening sites. A StatTrak version is also available for kill tracking.
