MAG-7 | BI83 Spectrum

Origin Story

The MAG-7 | BI83 Spectrum features a custom paint job designed to resemble iridescent bismuth crystals. Released on September 22, 2021, as part of The Operation Riptide Collection, its Gunsmith finish creates a visually distinctive shotgun. The skin's angular, stepped shapes mimic the unique structure of bismuth, with colors shifting between cyan, magenta, yellow, and purple depending on the viewing angle. This MAG-7 stands out as a collector's piece due to its striking crystal motif and its origin from a time-limited operation.

Drop Chance

MAG-7 | BI83 Spectrum is Restricted, a Purple-tier skin in the upper half of the rarity ladder. From the Operation Riptide Case: approximately 3.20% per opening (roughly 1 in 31). The 15.98% Restricted tier rate is split across 5 Restricted skins in the case. StatTrak versions drop at ~0.32% from the Operation Riptide Case (about 1 in 313). These per-skin odds assume equal weighting within tier — Valve publishes tier rates but doesn't formally confirm even distribution across skins in a tier.

Skin Condition

Float range 0 to 0.6. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is available in FN, MW, FT, WW, BS.

• Factory New ($6.45): The iridescent bismuth crystal pattern is sharp and vibrant, with distinct cyan, magenta, yellow, and purple hues and no visible scratches on the main body.
• Minimal Wear ($3.14): The crystal pattern remains nearly pristine, with only slight softening of edge perfection and minor scratches, primarily visible on close inspection.
• Field-Tested ($2.08): Wear becomes noticeable with chipping on the edges of the receiver, fore-end, and stock, and some dulling of the iridescent effect on frequently handled areas.
• Well-Worn ($2.04): Color vibrancy is reduced, and scratches and chips are clearly visible on most leading edges and corners, with the pattern appearing more disrupted.
• Battle-Scarred ($1.97): High-contact surfaces show heavy wear with substantial chipping and exposed base material, causing the iridescent crystals to look fragmented and muted.

Visual Theme

Gunsmith: It has been custom painted to resemble iridescent bismuth crystals. The design features metallic iridescent hues of cyan, magenta, yellow, and purple, which shift depending on the viewing angle. In first-person, the crystal-like structures along the receiver and body of the MAG-7 are most visible, with angular, stepped shapes mimicking bismuth crystals. The overall aesthetic is often conceptually compared to bismuth crystals.

Sticker Compatibility

The MAG-7 | BI83 Spectrum's iridescent crystal theme pairs well with iridescent or holographic stickers featuring cyan, magenta, and yellow tones. Teal, purple, and neon-themed stickers also complement its spectrum-like hues, while dark or black-outlined stickers can provide effective contrast. The main body/receiver area is the most visible sticker slot during gameplay.
