Origin Story

The Tec-9 | Garter-9, released on April 1, 2025, as part of the Spring Forward update, features a green snakeskin pattern applied with a Hydrographic finish. This design covers the weapon with a reptilian texture, as described in its in-game flavor text, "Crush and kill." It was introduced as part of The Boreal Collection.

Drop Chance

Tec-9 | Garter-9 is Industrial Grade, a common skin tier, one step above Consumer Grade. It can drop as an end-of-match reward from active competitive play on the Boreal Collection item pool. Map drops follow a weighted rarity system that heavily favors common grades, so Industrial Grade drops are uncommon and Valve doesn't publish per-skin odds. There are 8 other Industrial Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. Most copies enter the market through trade-up contracts or direct purchase at a listed seller's price.

Float range 0 to 0.7. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Factory New ($0.38): The green snakeskin pattern is fully intact and vibrant, with edges on the muzzle and slide appearing clean.
• Minimal Wear ($0.18): Minor scuffs and faint edge wear begin to appear on high-contact areas like the front of the slide, but the snakeskin pattern remains sharp.
• Field-Tested ($0.06): More visible edge chipping and a slight dulling of the green pattern are present on the slide and mag well, with some base metal showing.
• Well-Worn ($0.06): Noticeable wear patches appear where the pattern is partially missing, especially on the front end and prominent edges, making the green tones more muted.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.05): Extensive pattern loss and heavier surface scratching are visible, with large worn areas and significant dulling across the skin.
