Origin Story
The MAG-7 Praetorian, released on February 18, 2016, as part of Operation Wildfire, features metallic greys, dark gunmetal, and bronze accents that evoke the imagery of Roman armor. Its Gunsmith finish distinctly paints the weapon with these metallics, giving it a segmented, armored appearance. The skin's flavor text, "The spire is forming," adds to its thematic depth. It functions as a mid-tier, collection-based skin, often chosen by players who appreciate its Roman aesthetic.
Drop Chance
MAG-7 | Praetorian is Restricted, a Purple-tier skin in the upper half of the rarity ladder. From the Operation Wildfire Case: approximately 3.20% per opening (roughly 1 in 31). The 15.98% Restricted tier rate is split across 5 Restricted skins in the case. StatTrak versions drop at ~0.32% from the Operation Wildfire Case (about 1 in 313). These per-skin odds assume equal weighting within tier — Valve publishes tier rates but doesn't formally confirm even distribution across skins in a tier.
Skin Condition
Float range 0 to 0.45. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn. StatTrak is available in FN, MW, FT, WW. Factory New ($9.69): Metallic panels and armor-like segments appear crisp and clean, with clear separation between dark gunmetal and bronze/gold accents. Minimal Wear ($3.13): The overall design remains close to Factory New, but earliest signs of wear appear as small scratches or dulling on sharp edges and contact points. Field-Tested ($3.29): Noticeable edge wear appears on the barrel, pump housing, and stock edges, with metallic areas looking more dulled and slightly washed. Well-Worn ($3.42): Stronger chipping and fading occur along the front barrel, pump, and rear stock, with a broader spread of surface wear, making metallics appear more muted and patchy.
Model
Praetorian uses the legacy MAG-7 model, introduced with Operation Wildfire on February 18, 2016. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.
