Origin Story

The Tec-9 | Groundwater was released on November 27, 2013, as part of the "Out with the old, in with the new" update and originates from The Italy Collection. This skin features a simple olive drab color scheme, with individual parts spray-painted in solid colors. Its utilitarian appearance makes it a low-profile option for players. As a skin from a map-based collection, it functions more as a collection piece or trade-up material rather than a prestige item.

Drop Chance

Tec-9 | Groundwater is Consumer Grade, the most common drop tier in CS2. It appeared in the EMS One 2014 Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Italy Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Consumer Grade skins like Groundwater are a small fraction of total package contents. There are 4 other Consumer Grade skins in the collection competing for the same drop slot. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

Skin Condition

Float range 0.06 to 0.8. Exteriors: Factory New, Minimal Wear, Field-Tested, Well-Worn, Battle-Scarred. StatTrak is not available for this skin.

• Factory New ($3.52): The olive drab color is uniform and solid across the frame and slide, appearing clean and saturated.
• Minimal Wear ($0.09): Minor micro-scratches or slight edge wear may be present on the slide and frame, but the olive color remains largely consistent.
• Field-Tested ($0.04): More noticeable chipping begins to appear on the edges of the slide and barrel, with the olive drab looking less pristine.
• Well-Worn ($0.04): Moderate wear is visible, with larger areas of exposed metal on high-contact surfaces, making the olive drab appear faded and patchy.
• Battle-Scarred ($0.04): Heavy wear is present across the weapon, with significant portions of the olive drab paint missing and the color heavily broken up by metal exposure.

Model

Groundwater uses the legacy Tec-9 model, introduced with Out with the old, in with the new on November 27, 2013. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The Tec-9 | Groundwater is exclusively available as a Souvenir item, originally distributed in the EMS One 2014 Souvenir Package. These packages were awarded to viewers during the EMS One 2014 Major tournament for watching live matches on the Italy map. Players can acquire this skin by purchasing it directly from other players on the Steam Community Market or through various third-party marketplaces.
