Origin Story

The MAG-7 | Sand Dune, released on August 14, 2013, with The Arms Deal update, is a part of The Inferno Collection. Its design features individual parts spray-painted in a solid sand dune color scheme, giving the shotgun a subdued and utilitarian appearance. This skin is generally regarded as a common collection filler, primarily appealing to collectors who aim to complete full Inferno collection sets or acquire souvenir versions. Its low-key aesthetic aligns with other desert-toned finishes, offering a basic, military-like look rather than a flashy one.

Drop Chance

MAG-7 | Sand Dune is Consumer Grade, the most common drop tier in CS2. It has appeared across 8 tournament packages, most recently the ESL One Katowice 2015 Inferno Souvenir Package, Krakow 2017 Inferno Souvenir Package, and MLG Columbus 2016 Inferno Souvenir Package.


Souvenir Packages are awarded to viewers watching live Major matches on the corresponding map, not opened from cases, so Valve doesn't publish per-skin drop odds. Each package contains one item from The Inferno Collection, with rarity tiers drawn on a weighted system that heavily favors common grades, meaning Consumer Grade skins like Sand Dune are a small fraction of total package contents. There is 1 other Consumer Grade skin in the collection competing for the same drop slot. New copies only enter the market when a recipient chooses to open their package, so supply trickles in over time even after the tournament ends.

• Minimal Wear ($6.90): The sand dune color appears clean and even, with only minor edge scuffs visible upon close inspection, making this the premium visual tier for collectors.
• Field-Tested ($2.60): Small scratches and slight fading begin to appear on high-contact edges, giving the tan body a marginally duller appearance while maintaining the overall color block.
• Well-Worn ($2.07): Noticeably more pronounced wear is present on the front and edges, with scratches and darker spots visible, and the tan color can start to look slightly muddy.
• Battle-Scarred ($3.02): Large areas on edges and corners show significant scratch-through and darkening, causing the original tan to appear washed out or dirty in places, representing the heaviest level of wear.

Sand Dune uses the legacy MAG-7 model, introduced with The Arms Deal on August 14, 2013. The inspect animation and third-person appearance match the original CS:GO version.

How to Obtain

The MAG-7 | Sand Dune is exclusively available as a Souvenir item from The Inferno Collection. It was originally distributed through specific tournament Souvenir Packages, such as the Boston 2018 Inferno Souvenir Package and the DreamHack 2014 Inferno Souvenir Package, which were awarded to viewers during Major events. Since these tournaments have concluded, new packages are no longer being distributed. Consequently, players today acquire this skin by purchasing existing copies directly from other players on the Steam Community Market, third-party marketplaces, or various CS2 skin trading sites.
